Description from the Centre Convocation Calendar: 

Among the many challenges society will encounter as a result of climate
change is the design and construction of housing, particularly in areas most
effected by weather extremes, and also the questions of cost and availability in
all areas. Amy Preece earned her master’s degree in Transpersonal
Ecopsychology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. In 2017, she
completed Climate Reality Leadership Corps training with former Vice President
Al Gore and is a charter member of Climate Reality Lexington. She serves on the
Market Leadership Advisory Board for the U.S. Green Building Council Kentucky
and works at Lexington Habitat for Humanity where she oversees their
implementation of Green Check, a sustainability program of the City of
Lexington. As a Master Community Composter, she has been responsible for
facilitating vermicompost workshops for people of all ages. She also coorganizes
Mindful Hiking – Kentucky, a monthly hiking group that integrates the
practice of mindfulness into exploring urban forests. Amy is committed to
helping communities interact with the natural world in ways that benefit their
well-being and local ecology
